Frequently Asked Questions
Q
How can I check my child’s grades?
A
During the first weeks of school, your child will create an Edsby account. Parents will create an account through an online portal via the district website; you will then be able to check your child’s academic progress.
Q
How often will Edsby be updated?
A
Teachers will update Edsby approximately every 2 weeks.
Q
Where do I find the supply list?
A
There is no standard supply list for high school students. During the first few days of school your child’s teachers will discuss the necessary supplies for each course.
Q
How does my child get a schedule change?
A
NOTE: Students’ schedules are determined by test scores, pass/fail of previous courses, and graduation requirements. Elective courses are chosen by the student during programming in the spring of the previous school year. Schedule changes the first week of school will be limited to: not having a pre-requisite, a level change, a missing period on the schedule, a course scheduled that your child has already taken and passed (i.e.: virtual school), or a course appearing twice. Students will be called via intercom the first day of school to address these issues or they may submit a “Guidance Request Form” during their Lunch period.
Q
If I have a concern about my child’s progress in a class, what should I do?
A
Contact the teacher via email or phone and set up a conference. Be sure that your child is part of the conference.
Q
What can I do to ensure my child’s success in high school?
A
Help your child stay organized and monitor his/her homework and study habits. Be sure to contact teachers immediately if you notice that your child’s grades are not reflective of his/her potential and effort. Encourage your child to be present at school every day and every period.
Q
How can I meet my child’s teachers?
A

A
